Travelers, drivers, and local families in Nuwakot can finally cross the Tadi River once again. The original crossing was heavily damaged during the torrential floods triggered by the Bhotekoshi river on August 26, cutting off a key transportation link and leaving several communities stranded. In response, engineering units from the Nepali Army mobilized to build a dependable temporary crossing at Devighat in Nuwakot 5.

The team assembled a 57.9 meter long, 5.5 meter wide advanced modular panel bridge, commonly called an Acrow bridge. Built from prefabricated steel sections, this system allows engineers to assemble and launch strong structures quickly without waiting for lengthy concrete curing. Despite its rapid installation, the crossing is built tough, boasting a maximum load capacity of 60 tonnes. This allows everything from motorcycles and passenger buses to heavy cargo haulers to cross safely.

Traffic along the corridor has officially resumed, bringing immediate relief to daily commuters, farmers transporting goods to market, and regional trade routes. Just as importantly, the reopened bridge gives disaster response teams an unobstructed route to deliver relief supplies, food, clean water, and medical aid to surrounding flood affected zones that were previously difficult to reach.
